Awarded a medal at the Adelaide Wine Show!!!
Colour: Deep red with a dark purple hue
Aroma: Dark plum and black berry fruit with underlying vanilla, spice and bitter dark chocolate.
Palate: This Shiraz is packed with dark and rich fruits, proving great depth and concentration. Subtle oak adds layers and complexity and is supported by fine, long tannins to provide great balance and structure.
Pair it with roast lamb, aged cheddar, or the kind of dinner where the candles burn low and no one’s checking the clock.
Vegan friendly | Contains sulphites | Alcohol 14.6%
The 2019 vintage and the vineyard: 2019 was a challenging year for grape growers with dry and hot conditions. McLaren Vale was fortunate with its cooling proximity to the Gulf St Vincent and access to recycled water for irrigation.
This wine is made from fruit from blocks 4 and 6 from our Old Rifle Range vineyard. The challenging vintage meant a lower yield and berries with more intense flavour.
The wine is vegan friendly and the grapes are grown using organic principles.
‘The Barn’ label – handcrafted 40 years ago with rendered mud brick walls and recycled old beams. The Barn is a beautiful old structure overlooking Turraparri creek. When we finish renovations, it will be the perfect location for our cellar door.
